I'm not sure, if there as good as there made out to be im up for buying one right away, but im just after a better card that will run games smoother. Is it really better than an 8800.

Im not looking at spending lots of money on a GPU just something cheap and awesome that performs and is DX10.

About double your current performance.

9600GT is slower than the new 8800 cards (besides GS?)

However for pricing a 512MB 9600GT for cheap, or a 3850/70 will do you fine.

i would drop that 8600GT like a bad habit and get a 9600GT. since you can get one for $149 on newegg.com, its a bit cheaper then the 3850 card.

yea consider getting the 9600 your step up to a 8800.
speaking of step up can you step up with the manufacturer?

the only company to offer a setup program is EVGA. you pay the cost difference MSRP of the 2 cards. as in one case they made one pay less since that person payed more then the MSRP for it. its one of those things that happens, rarly.
