SLI to support 8GPU's

I think thats a tad bit overkill, but according to this article NV has the support for it.

Lets see, 8 6800 pci-e's with 512M each...hmmm 4G of video memory.

It's not really overkill if you're putting together a commercial flight trainer or something like that. I'm surprised they limited it to 8. I guess it's how they implement it (dividing the screen in half - or eighths). IIRC ATi's R2## cores did 256-way, so I'd guess the R3## and R4## will as well. The problem is, apart from the Rage MAXX we've never seen them in setups anyone could afford. I saw a link to 64 GPU rendering beast the other day, but I forget where.

64 is amazing. How many outputs does the Quattro have, 8 6800's is 16 screens.
