Someone told me about using a Slot1 to Slot1 adapter to free the first DIMM-slot (it rizes the original Slot1 on the mobo) when using a slocket and a large HSF. Does anyone know where to find any? They told me that mobo companies use these to test a CPU on alot of mobo's without damaging the contacts on the CPU...

I think they should also change the form factor of slockets so that the s370 socket is facing up frmo the board like on a real s370 board that way you would be able to fit the big heatsinks and fans and not loose any dimms

Yes, a horizontal Slocket would be nice. Don't think we should hold our breath, though.
Phil, the only way I know to lose only one Dimm slot(on a P3B-F, at any rate) and get maximum CPU cooling at the same time is by using the Alpha PEP-66. Now that HSF's cost up to ~$80, ~$34 for a PEP-66 with a Delta 38 cfm 60mm on it isn't the most expensive HSF anymore!

I only loose one of my dimms with my FOP-80 but this doesn;t give me much room to fit some kind of duct for it

I am running my slot 1 PIII with a tec on my Alpha. So I lost two ram slots. I was thinking of modifying my Alpha. cutting a little bit off to get atleast one rams slot back. I would only have to cutt off about an 8th of an inch to get enough room. I hardly doubt this would make a difference as far as cooling.
