So, who's getting a 5XXX series card?

Yes..........
It's a bummer that MSI is playing that GPU package deal BS but it's still probably your best chance regardless considering how much they're getting scalped for. At this point I think the Nvidia raffle is literally the only chance of getting a 5090 at normal price.

See my other post, I see it as a warranty win in the end. If I get a burn out, I can just blame MSI.

Yes..........
Sell that 'bish and get what you wanted....profit. :p

Don't hang onto it just because you think the warranty may be easier. If MSI balks because of PSU brand, they don't deserve to exist. I don't see it as much of, if any 'trump card'.

Unrelated to Dolk - have we seen any more reports of torched connectors/PSUs etc with 5090/5080??? The tracking reddit doesn't have anymore last I checked (a couple of weeks back tho)...

After I get mine installed I'm going to use one of those barbecue laser temperature sensors on the connector while running God of War ragnarok or something like that. Will post results.

Yeah how good is this PSU anyway, I figured it was one of their better ones. Let me research heh

Pushing the limits, ~610w via 12VHPWR and another ~50w via PCI-E

Found the reddit thread...~30 days later we have......

3x confirmed (not 4)
1x unconfirmed
3x suspicious.

.....nothing has changed except for two additional 'suspicious' occurrences (EDIT: Those occurences were already there when I originally posted - so no change at all?)? I mean, who knows how well they are tracking it, but............ we're just not seeing these fail hand over fist (so far) like many have expected...

Makes me feel better about getting the FE and staying under 575w

The other day, something got me thinking... how come we do not see a lot of PSU connector burn out vs GPU side? Its the same connector on both parts.
Good question. Feels like something an EE can answer.

Ok after reading the spoiler I'm worried about the founders edition hehe. I wonder what the absolute safest power cable is. Included adapter with 4 pcie cables, OE seasonic 12V-2x6 cable (that I have to find) or a cable mods with straight connector?

I'd use whatever comes in the box with your card.

That said, I'm more worried than if these incidents didn't happen, but encouraged that the problem hasn't grown, at all, in the last month. You'd think with all of the hullabaloo, these would be more lit than me back in college. :p

I used a cable mods with the 4090 and it was fine. I have a feeling this is going to be the same thing again. Isolated incidents blown out of proportion.

I said that in other threads, but I noticed that new connectors on RTX5070 and 5070Ti cards are somehow tighter and I'm sure that all new cards have the same right now. It's significantly harder to push them, so they lock properly ... and I mean you have to put some force. Maybe not really a lot but significantly more than on any RTX4000 card I was using. It helps with good contact.
So far, I have been using cables delivered with cards, FSP and Deepcool PSUs.

It's pretty easy to get cards with this youtube stock alert channel. I tried just for fun and was able to get a 5080 and a 5070ti in my cart no problem.

I will say, adding to cart and being able to check out are two very different things. I've had dozens of 5090s in my cart from multiple sites but trying to check out leads to an out of stock message.

Then again, 5070ti and 5080 aren't as in demand as 5090 as well.

I have multiple stock checking apps, auto refresh extension with change notification, and discord alerts set and same results.
