socket 2011 cpu lever pressure????

is there supposed to be quite a bit of pressure to seat the cpu retention levers on socket 2011?
this is my first go round with this socket and the pressure to seat the levers seems a bit on the high side.
I pulled the cpu back out and the pins seem to be fine.

this takes quite a bit more than my 1150 stuff.
could it be the asus cpu cradle?

Agreed, more pressure: I was surprised when I seat the CPU in the socket the first time. I even removed the CPU and checked the pins! As you did!

If you take a look at the socket then you will see there are plastic elements which won't let you to damage pins and because of IHS, CPU won't bend. I don't know if it's because of socket brand ( usually it's Foxconn in new boards ) or something else but sometimes is higher or lower pressure.
