WHY IS INTEL STOPPING THE
PRODUCTION OF SLOT 1 CHIPS?
THERE'S NO PERFORMANCE DIFFERENCE RIGHT?
THANX,

Try a abit VH6T.
Its a new board but the vh6 2 is one heck of a good overclocking board.
Outhouse uses one running at 167fsb and 1.2ghz.
The vh6t will also allow use of the tualatin cpu.

VH6-2 is a good stable board but it does have the VIA chip set and you will need to make up your mind wheather your going with VIA or a BX chipset. the only thing i'm not happy about with my MB is the lack of VIO settings. On the other hand the MB is not to exspencive around 120 and you can get quite a bit of performance for the dollar. I'm not sure but being its a Abit the VH6T probably does not have VIO settings either. just my 2 cents goodluck on your hunt I dont believe there is a difference in performance and i think you can overclock some of the slot CPU's a little better because you can add a slotket that will give you better control over CV and a few other settings. I'm not sure why there stopping productiuon of the slot type CPU's, if your interested in specs for the VH6-2 you can email me just ask what info your looking for.

i am going to be different and go against abit because i have heard of problems with quality. i do know that they are known for o/c though. i have, and would recommend, an asus cusl2-c. if you just get the cusl2, i think it has sound. this is based on the intel 815 series chipset. I have a PIII 700 in there right now and it has posted up to 1026mhz. Also, MSI makes a good board.

i have just ripped the northbridge off my old slot 1 bx440 epox mobo, i am really p****d off but have ordered the aopen ax3sp pro, i will tell u how good it is soon
