socket 423 to 478 convert

I fail to see how those would work. How can 478 pins all be used with a 423 pin socket? And if they aren't being used, then wouldn't that mean that not all the processor's power is being utilized?

Toms Hardware did a review on 1 of these not too long ago and from the benchies I saw over there, it looked pretty good. I checked out the manufacturer of it and they do sell the socket adapters in the US for around $40, if I remember right. I had posted about this about a month or 2 ago in this forum. Powerleap also is selling a socket converter too for the old P4 willie boards.
