Has anyone tryed to put a SK-6 hs or any for that matter on an old socket 7 mobo (k6-2cpu).

I know the chip connection is different but what about the hs connections. My hs looks smaller but I don't have SK-6 to compare it too I only think its to small from pictures of the SK-6.

I tried it with an ArctiCooler HSF. The clips wouldn't fit over the plastic nibs on the socket. But the distance from side to side seemed to be right, so if I had the patience, I might have been able to modify the ArctiCooler to fit.

Sure you can. Clip might not fit, but thats ok, you should be able to use the clip from your old hsf on the sk6...only worry might be wieght of the sk6 though...

But assuming you can use the clip from your old hsf on the sk6 (i.e. it fits into it), then you should be ok. I used the hsf's that came with 2 of our durons at work to cools some k62s that had really cheesy units on them, just used the socket 7 clips and they fit on really nicely.
