Is there any such thing as a socket 7 converter, i.e to any other chip format.

no, I believe you can buy celeron add in cards that go in a pci slot but the socket 7 has no convertor to any kind of chip

your from the uk aren't you? If so think simply sell them, there web site is www.simply.co.uk and the item is called Accelera PCI Upgrade, but it costs nearly £400 so I think a new motherboard and chip would be better, either a bx or 815ep chip for around £100-150 and a celeron for about £60 or so, if you only have an AT case then an ATX case only costs around £50-100 in all it would be much cheaper than that upgrade card I had never read the price before only noticed it

I gotta confess...I'd wondered at times if there ever was such an animal as a s7 to slot 1 slocket.
