Hey,
I recently experianced some problems with my videocard. Today i installed a dvd+-rw drive and then when i booted up my computer, it started up okay and when it hit windows, it was artifacting. had around 300px of snow every other 300px. I was awed because it had never done this before. So i restarted the system. It then started artifacting from the 1st second of the boot. !? never did this before neither. So i guess i had to reflash the card to regular pro bios. I stuck in the floppy and it said "Cannot load DOS! Press any button to retry"(with artifacts from the start). So i pressed space bard and it restarted it didn't artifact this time and still replyed "Cannot load DOS! Press anybutton to retry" Again i was awed. So i unplugged the power from the computer and took out the floppy. I plugged it back in and turned on the system, and it stoped artifacting?! Everything now runs fine? is this just a one time thing or should i reflash my videocard back to pro bios?

If i should reflash, can somebody link me to a BBA Radeon 9800Pro 128mb Hynix bios? ( I did back it up, but it says "Cannot load DOS" for some odd reason, i used exact method in the 9800 flash sticky )

Im running:
AMD 2600+
Soyo KT400 Dragon Lite Motherboard
256 Enhanced Mushkin DDRAM PC2700 333mhz
2 40GB Seagate Barracudas 7200RPMs
Built by ATi Radeon 9800XT(Pro ->XT Flash / R360 Core / PRO PCB / Stock Cooling / Artic Silver Creamique)

A silly question but did you take out the dvd and then try? If your dvd has a bad power connector it could be causing interfence and/or feedback on the 12v.
