Ok

I am very close to buying a Ti 4400 at the moment but just a few questions:

I am buying in the US for the use in the UK. The card will work in my system won't it?

There isn't any voltage or resolution problems?

I am getting the GeForce on reccomendation of my tutor at college, because he said that the GeForce will run Softinmage XSI better than a Radeon. Anybody hear any differently?

The card is $300 plus $40 shipping, is this ok? Anybody know the release price on the UK? In the UK the Ti4600 goes for about $560.

It is the Visiontek Xtasy model Ti4400 I will be getting is this a good one?

Anybody know the features?

Thanks guys

I don't see why a ti4200 wouldn't work in your system, so I think you can buy one safely. However if you primarily need a graphics card for 3d modeling work not games, then I think you'll be better off holding on to your money and modding your existing MX into a Quadro.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS

hey, can i have your other ti 4400???

Wildfire,
the card will work in your UK box. i too think you should try
to turn your MX into a quadro, if its gonna be for video stuff.

here is a post telling you how to do this.

I will work fine the motherboard will supply 1.5v to the agp card just like in the usa.

$300 u.s. is a fair price.

manny calavera very nice overclock, someone was putting me down before when I said I thought the 4400's would oc to 600/300.

Thanks Guys that all cool advice. As to modding to a quadro. I have tried to do this but the drivers that I have are a .exe file and I couldn't get my computer to recognise the drivers that I downloaded when trying to patch them.

Also wouldn't a GeForce 4 run faster than a MX modded anyway? Just from higher clock speeds and the DDR memory? Besided my MX really struggles with the dual monitors in 3D even overclocked to 215/215 I do play some games as well and it's been a while since I've upgraded anyway. I went for the budget option before and it's lasted a year and a half so this time I want a top end card.
