Its been like 11 months since Ive even looked at computer hardware, 6 since I stoped using watercooling. Whats the best heatsink right now for the buck?
I have a Barton 2500 I just purchased if that helps...

What mobo? Most of us use or prefer the thermalright brand of HS.You can view them here. www.thermalright.com .If your mobo has the 4 mounting holes you'll want the SP-97 HS.This HS has not been out long and is available from several venders.I run the SP-94 the SP-97 brother. I run the Panaflo U1A 92mm fan on it.Its a hard fan to find now days. THE FANMAN:cool:

just read what i posted here if there's any doubt in your mind about whether you should go for Thermalright LINK

I like the Thermaltake Volcano 12. It knocked 15* C off of my temp, when combined with AS5.

OK just to tell you how good thermalright is, they could market an aluminium foil ball as the hs solution, and still make a quarter of a mill off of name recongniton alone.

But it would be VERY high quality foil! It would be super shinny and have perfect sphericalness.

arg get thermalright, for overclocking i would say at least slk-800. Otherwise sk-7 is alright. This is just a guess based off the performance i have seen out of the SP-94 and performance i have seen from the slk-700 modded for an 80mm fan.

SK-7 is the best for the money, but it's hard to find, as most stores stock the newer heatsinks. I've got an SLK800 with a TT smartfan 2 on my Barton 2500+ (overclocked to 3200+), and it's under 40C load :)

For the money I agree with everyone else in the Thermalright line is the best. I have the SLK-947U and love it. If you wanted to spend a little more go with Swiftech. They make some awsome HS's too. :)

Whacha know....
Thermalright Is still the best.... *Kicks self for selling 900u to Thunder7 :D*
Off to buy another thermalright, thanks guyz!

Oh yeah, how are these new heatpipe looking thermalrights doing?
