I recently got a soyo 7vac2 mobo to replace a BX board I had been using. I have had much success overclocking BX boards, especially Abit. I had problems right off with the new soyo board, numerous freeze ups. I tried 3 different cpu's, all of which I have overclocked, same results. Eventually, I realized that when I left the core voltage at stock level, everything was fine, but as soon as I raised the cpu core v, even a little, the system would lock up just as windows finished booting. This would happen no matter what FSB I used, from 66 (the cpus are all Celermines), to 100. System would be perfect at normal voltage, useless at any raised v. I tried different video cards, ram, removed all added cards, etc, no help. Contacted Soyo, they were no help. BTW, the system is stable with raised voltage in safe mode. Reinstalled Windows, still no good. Downloaded latest drivers, bios, too. It is not a heat issue, plenty of cooling. I have a cellie 633 that will go to 903 (95 fsb) at stock voltage, but it would go higher if I could raise the V core. Anyone ever heard of anything like this?
