If you want to go RAID, keep in mind that it is best to have two drives of the same size--preferrably the same speed--preferrably the same MODEL. In any case, you will need to use at least two drives. When you set up your RAID (0 or 1), the contents of each of the drives will be lost (they will in effect be reformatted). Both drives will appear as one drive. The size will be roughly twice the size of the smallest drive (RAID-0) or simply the size of the smallest drive (RAID-1: mirroring). Remember to copy the Promise FastTrack Family drivers to a floppy. When loading WinXP (assuming a clean install from CD-ROM) press the F6 key. The WinXP installer will then pause to give you the opportunity to load the RAID driver so it can 'see' the RAID array. Remember to jumper your mobo correctly and enable RAID in the BIOS. Also keep in mind that the array LOOKS like a SCSI drive to the system (even though you will use IDE drives).
