Freelancer was an awesome game, but was too easy..

I like massive games like that where you are one character (i.e. Not leading a group) and can choose you're own path really. I love flight sims and the space flight sims are my favorite.

What are some space flight sims where you can interact with computer and people (if playing online) in a massive universe? Like freelancer?

only one i can think of is eve... which despite it's downfalls etc is a game i am addicted to atm.

you can get eve at amazon right now for $18... and if you enjoyed freelancer you should enjoy it... and you get free 30 days. many dif ships/skills/etc etc, and the universe is over 5000 systems. a bit different but still good. it has bugs in some areas. but what mmog didn't?

i appreciate all the responses..i've seen eve before but wasn't too sure about it. Give me a week when i'll have my cable modem back and i'll pick up the game and try it out..

thanks guys..if you can think of any more let me know..

if you do end up playing eve... and want lots of fleet/mob PvP join the corp called PIE or one of its many enemies. the game is what u make it to be... just make sure you stay in safe space at first; in low security systems there lurks many pirates and pk'ers.

if you have a decent rig...try this game , its a fourm link but it shows a few screen shots and much more on flight sims...

Independence war 2 (I think it was 2) was pretty decent...an oldie but a goodie is privateer. In my opnion X2 isn't worth the money...there was one more older space flight sim...but I can't remember the name.....had some voice acting by...bruce something...the guy who starred in brisco county jr.

That would be Bruce Campbell, more famous from the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness movies. Think his characters name is Ash or something like that in Army of Darkness. And if I am not mistaken the character was a major influence on the Duke Nukem games with all the wisecrackin and stuff.

i've never played any of the games listed here..but i'll go out and get EVE soon..got a few games i have to get store credit for at EB..

Do any of these games allow you to target certain points of a ship? Such as in that EVE game, can you become a pirate and target their engines to stall them and steal their cargo? Can you disable their ship by knocking out their weapons? that would be fun :)

no, but you can warp jam them / or jam their prop, or disrupt their weapons. a lot of people will talk shi about this game, including me before... but i am amazed at how much you can do and the depth of the game. right now i am begining to manufacture ammo/weapons and soon will build a cruiser. for $18 it's not bad to try it out for 30 days.

WOW!!

i just got EVE online and I must say it is incredible!

I've never seen such a good game. I'm very addicted now. It's hard work learning to play and about all the stuff there is..but damn it's fun!
