well my speakers are on their way out, i have an altec lansing 3pc speaker system that has served me very well but these old fellas are starting to pass away. (listening to music @ 100% volume must not have helped either :p). well what are some sugguestions on new speakers? i have a SB audigy sound card and i would really like the speakers to have the digital connection to the sound card (analog sux). any sugguestions? klipsh are too expensive for my wallet btw ;)

I have Labtec Pulse -201. They are a really good 2.1 system. They are only $50 and Maximum PC said they are really good and recommended them as an trusty budget alternative to the Klipsch. They are well worth the money and have really good sound.

I picked up my Altec Lansing ACS54 4.1s at Sams Club for 69 bucks, plus it had a 10 dollar rebate. Great sounding speakers for 60 bucks. Also I just heard the new Logitech Z-560s. If you can swing 175 to 200 bucks, this is definitely the way to go. They kick *** big time.

Doesnt logitech have some 5.1 speakers comming out soon?
$200 or so is about what id want to spend, i just cant get $500 for some klipsch speakers.

get a pair of proper stereo speakers and an amp, the sound quality will increase and you will also be able to use the system to listen to music when your pc is off. if you want surround sound, by a cheep surround sound amp and a set of surround sound speakers.

I know you said Klipsch's are out of your pricerange, but once in awhile Klipsch has the 2.1's on sale

I paid $159 at Best Buy and they rock.

$399 for the Klipsch 5.1's is serious duckets, but they are sweet.

I just bought These off of newegg for 310 bones (with 2 day shipping). a little more than what i wanted to spend but it will be worth it :)
