ok so i know at least some of you have 8800's may it be gts or gtx.
My question is how high can u oc them? and wat performance gain do you get?

And then someone compare a oc'ed 8800gts to a stock 8800gtx so i can decide which one i will buy :)

lol should it matter... a 8800gts stock is pullin right around 10k in 3dmark06.. my 7900gt KO 512mb (clocked from factory at 560 / 1550) does about 5500 in 06... this is why i am stepping up from my 7900gt to a 8800gts.

In all respect tho the gtx and gts are the same cores... its just the gtx's are the cherries that can be clocked to their respective speeds... also the gtx just has a lil different ammount of ram at a higher bit rate..

gts 96 pipelines. gtx 128 pipelines. if an oc gts can beat an stock gtx then i will buy a 8800gts if it cant i am going to wait for ati to release something.

if i rememeber correctly the gtx is pulling about 13-14k in 3dmark06... im a almost positive with the right cpu (like a e6600 @ 3.0ghz) the gts would easily be able to reach that.

eventhough you dont have a C2D everything would still be the same %age wise... the gtx would be around 30% faster than a stock gts... and im sure you can oc the gts so that its 30% faster than stock...

and btw they are not called pipelines... they are stream processors capable of running pixle shaders or vertex shaders...

come to think of it. how will dx10 separate the 2 cards. 32 stream processors sounds like a lot.

the problem is why would you want to upgrade to vista if there isnt going to be n e good dx10 games for it n e time soon?... pluss its well Vista... its horible and gobbles up the ram.

I went ahead and got one GTX, next month i'll pick up my 680i sli MB, and the month after I'll be grabbing the 2nd GTX when the prices are coming down just in time to run Crysis in SLI....can't wait.

You will like that card:D

Already loving it except with City of Villians, In a few zones with all the eye candy on @1440x900 Im averaging about 20 fps and dropping as low as 6 fps which is dissappointing considering my ATI X800XL in my backup rig does better than that. I'm sure its software related but still it's a little frustrating.

Have you been on the EVGA forums yet?

There are a few problems,I hope it is only driver related.
