I went from a max2 ver.2 Mobo too a Max 3 and Im 1 fan connector short,I think its because they use 1 for the power area fan on this Mobo.Anyways,I put a P4 fan on my 9700 vid card gpu awhile back and I also have a small orb fan on the psu heat spreader that is on the 9700 pro also.Well I dont have a connection for the orb fan on the psu so I want to just splice it into the P4 fan wire or plug as too run them both off 1 Mobo outlet thing. Will this work ok or will it lower my fahs RPMs?
Thanks,Shark

No! Dont do that!
Connect the fan to a free molex connector on your power supply. You can get a 4-pin molex to 3-pin converter cable at most computer stores.

i have 5 fans spliced onto one 4pin molex, like a fanbus. works just fine. I wouldn't under any circumstances want to power 2 or more fans from the same mobo connector. those have a limited amperage, and u could burn out the header trying that.
