I picked up one of these clever devices from the classies about a month back and have been enjoying tinkering with it so far. IMO for dual joystick games though its a little awkward.

Anyone else playing with one of these? What do you think so far?

I like it, but it needs better out of the box support IMO.
The user shared config files are nice though!

Ya I have been enjoying it. It certainly has some quarks though. Just tried to customize a profile to play pixel junk shooter and it ended up spawning a second instance of the controller. Took me about 15 mins to figure out why it was stuck in desktop mode. Trying to figure out how to get the touch pad to feel more like an actual joystick.

Yeah, I've been struggling with the response "feel" for aiming.

I have no idea how one uses a controller to aim at all...I've tried using my sons controllers on his XBox and Ps4 and I'm a hot mess with it. Kudos to you two for even attempting it.

Not gonna lie when I was heavily into FPS games on PC KBD and mouse every time trumps a controller. For aggressive mobas same situation. For everything else though why not lean back and relax with a wireless remote in your hands???

Seriously though the steam controller is beyond cool. I was actually using it to browse the web earlier. Given it was kinda slow it was still easy and relaxing. The configurability of it makes it super handy, but I did do something similar with my XBOX remotes using XPADDER and was able to do wayyy too many things not designed for a gamepad with one. Still the included features are neat, and I look forward to using it for a long time. Nonetheless there are some games where a true dual joystick pad just cant be beat.

I think one of the best things about it is they keyboard also!

Issue discovered. I figured out what is causing my controller to spawn separate instances. Sleep mode.... Apparently if the PC goes to sleep while the controller is connected when you wake it up and turn the controller back on it will mess up. All you have to do to fix it is disconnect the receiver for a few moments and plug it back in though.

Because it's hard to relax after my fat *** breaks my chair and I slam head first into a lamp...

But really, I just find a controller more annoying than a keyboard/mouse for anything other than simulation racing. I have a USB XBox controller, and even for non-FPS more "casual" games I just don't like it  It's the same reason my PS3 hasn't been turned on in over a year and I haven't even bothered looking at current gen consoles.
