I am wondering if it would be a good idea to get rid of the sticker on top of the harddrive. There is a large stainless steel surface under it,might help cool it alot. What do you think?

i think you shouldnt remove the sticker, unless you fully trust your hard drive and want to void the warranty. Just get some case fans and make them blow on the hard drive, thats what i do.

The majority of HDD heat escapes from the sides. Sticker removal will yield no benefit, and void your warranty. No reason to do this.
