Stock Keeping Software

hi there!
i am trying to setup a small supermarket!!
i have no experience though..
i want to control the stock using a computer.
guess i need a cash register and a computer..
any one has experience with this??
does the cash register come with a software itself?!
what other software can i use?
it does have a serial output to go in the computer right?
i would really appreciate any help.

You might have better results asking this in Other Software. Seems to me you will be looking at a combination of financial stuff, like the Quicken Business version, and also some sort of spreadsheet/inventory stuff.
