Is there a way to make Win2k strip file attributes (specifically read-only) when copying from a cd to the hard disk? I know it only takes two seconds to right click and remove read-only from properties, but I'm just wondering if there's a way to get Windows to do it for me automatically.

HMM, IN DOS COMMAND PROMPT IT'S
XCOPY/S/H/R/I/E/K

i THINK THATS HOW IT GOES, CANT REMEBER FOR SURE, BUT XCOPY WILL WORK

sorry about the caps

Hmmm
Reading XP help here..

it says:

/k
Copies files and retains the read-only attribute on destination files if present on the source files. By default, xcopy removes the read-only attribute.

So.. by default XCopy removes the read only attribute...

I didn't know that...
