Cannot install Suse 8.1 on Sata HDD... help

Current setup,
2.4c on Abit IC7-G
Seagate SATA HDD on SATA1,
WD PATA with SATA Serillel converter on SATA2,
CDRW on IDE1 Master
DVD on IDE1 Slave (I will be placing them on seperate IDE connectors)

I'm figuring it's the Kernel, but I try to install SUSE on my system it freezes about 30 seconds in... while reading the install log on the screen it says

"PCI_IDE: unknown ide controller on PCI bus 00 deivce f9, VID=8086, DID=24d1
PCI: Device 00:1f.1 not available because of resource collisions
PCI_IDE: (ide_setup_pci_device:) Could not enable device.
PCI_IDE: unknown ide controller on PCI bus 00 deivce fa, VID=8086, DID=24d1"

my bios has enhanced mode (4 PATA and 2 SATA devices)

I have been reading online and people are saying something about legacy mode and such but i can't seem enable it.

Any ideas?

Thanks
