svchost.exe the system process is taking up 99% of my friends CPU, what I'm trying to figure out is wether it is the bug SVCHOST.exe. It is not in caps like the bug is supposed to be. I know that svchost.exe is an essential file, so what should I do.

You can try looking at BlackViper's system services guide here:
www.blackviper.com

That should help you disable a lot of unecessary services, and will probably take that out with it. It might be Windows AutoUpdate or Windows System Restore.
