I asked this before but its no longer here and I just got my new drive in
so here goes

I have a 40GB drive now for everything, its totally full

so now i have this brand new WD 80GB drive I want to use the new C: drive without reinstalling ( i have WAY too many audio appz to make this an easy task)

how can I copy the contents of the old drive to the new, make the new drive C: and then the old drive as whatever: for storage?

could i just install the 80GB as master, switch the 40 to slave
when i boot into XP copy the contents of the 40 to the 80
then switch 40GB name to like q or whatever, and switch 80gB to C: and format the 40gb

since eveything on the old C: is now on the new C: all of my shortcuts and programs should work fine right?

The best way is to image the drive onto the other using either Norton Ghost or Power Quest Drive Image. Then rearragne or change the boot order, boot and use Disk Management to partition and format the 40.
