Cincy! Go BENGALS!!
Did anybody just watch this movie on TBS SuperStation ??? What did you think of the movie tech wise ??? I think Stanley said that he encrypted the bank account 1024-bit SSL !!!!!!! Talk about overkill. BTW, a xmas time movie "Die Hard 2" is on TBS SuperStation.

Grr.. I was going to watch that, but must have missed it :( Tech movies are allways good for a couple laughs :D

Swordfish was a good movie, its even better if you watch it uncensored on Cable or on DVD or VHS.

What was funny was the more drunk the guy got the faster he decrypted the 1024 bit ssl, and his 'test' at decrypting when he was interviewed was pretty funny. Some of the special effects were excellent, mostly the Ball bearing bombs going off in a Matrix type of special effect

Once he hacked into the DOD while getting a blowjob and just barely beating the dramatic 60 second clock, I had the movie in the technically-lame bucket.

I'm just wondering as you make it sound like you've never heard of this movie but...havnt you heard of this movie?

Anyways, it's pretty lame, 5 moniters makes an awsome computer!

And i can assure you, you missed the best parts because you watched it on TBS ;-)

how many good dual head pci cards are out there? that sound pretty cool, but i dont want to put in 3 pci cards in addition to a dual-head agp card. im thinking it owuld be cool just to put in two dual-head cards and put 4 monitors on your machine. i have two running right now, another two on another machine and 2 single monitor machines. fun fun.

i agree swordfish = unrealistic

but then again if you had a realistic movie would you watch it

4 fat guys sitting in a basement for 6 months codeing just doesntsell as well

I'd watch it.

Thats why Takedown is my favorite computer movie. Out of all of them, it is the most realistic - although a few spots (like the ending) aren't realistic.

I absolutely loved Swordfish. As far as accuracy is concerned, it was far more accurate then the first Hackers. The most accurate movie I've seen is Hackers 2: Operation Takedown. But that was based somewhat on a true story, the life of Kevin Mitnick.

My 2 cents

Yeah I fell asleep watching it. I'm with SSS if it wasn't the censored version I probably would have stayed awake.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Ms Berry!!!

Swordfish was too unrealistic up for me. I would have thought that using fancy 3d images of boxes floating about would have been a bit of a waste of CPU power that could otherwise have been used to compile code and stuff.

Swordfish = puke

Not only was much of the acting poor, the characterizations were translucent, the scenerios rediculous, and the 'hacking' non-existent. Just having some guy clicking keys in front of a row of 21" flatpanels doesn't make him, or this movie, 1337.

Her breats were worth the wait, but I haven't gone back for a second helping of swordfish... too boney.

It's Hackers: Operation Takedown, but don't be confused it has nothing to do with the original hackers (besides um... hacking... kinda).

The movie itself is called Takedown. But losers on the p2p networks decided to name it Hackers 2 because they are idiots. It wasn't properly released in the US, even though I think it was filmed here.

O heh... Dunno where I got the name from :p
*whistles and walks away*

Takedown is supposed to be about Kevin Mitnick. Too bad the story is totally lame and not even close, or even remotely close, to what really happened to him while he was on the FBI most wanted list. It does have a bit of social engineering that is kind of interesting though. If you want the real story about Mitnick I suggest you download a movie called Freedom Downtime. I can't find the links to it anymore but it is a better interpretation of what happened to Kevin.
