Here is the deal. I have Norton Internet Security 2003 Professional, along with Norton Systemworks 2004 Professional. I have antivirus, ghost, cleansweep, and utilities installed, then the normal internet security.

whenever i am downloading a large file with anything, let it be bit torrent, or opera, copying large files with AIM...anything. my SAVSCAN.exe file in taskmanager goes up to ~99% cpu usage and like 50mb of ram usage (normally zero cpu usage and ~1mb of ram usage). Then, I get a popup right above the taskbar saying, "such and such is waiting to scan this file" click OK, or Stop Scan.....

i can hit stop scan, and nothing happens, or i can hit OK, and nothing happens. The only way to fix it, is to end the SAVSCAN.exe process, along with explorer.exe, and restarted explorer, then restarted norton systemworks/internet security to they will re-enable themselves.

Is there anything I can change so it does not bog my system down so much when scanning large files. Should I take my settings off 'bloodhound' or whatever its called? or is there some other option i am missing that will kill my system resources. i plan on upgrading to a gig of pc3200 soon, and i am still overclocked and all of that, but i would think that 512mb would be enough for this to run fine....is half a gig just becoming obsolete with todays programs? or is something potentially wrong with my computer?

thanks for the help. if i didnt give enough info, let me know and i can answer anything i know.

Phil
