Symnatec's advice on 9x config for resource use

is this good advice? The harddrive cache thing worries me, I have the 8 meg cache WD SE and have no clue what that setting they want people to add does.

anyone understand this?

VCache has nothing to do with the physical hard drive.

VCache is taking any files that are used by programs, and loading them into memory, so that they can be accessed faster.
