Hello,

I have a mobile 2600 (IQYHA) running 2630Ghz @ 39/40 Idle and 48/49 load. Even at idle temps, my system will just reboot randomly after about 45 minute to an hour; slightly less at load. What could the problem be? I can get 2750 easy with LOW temps and my system just can’t stay stable.

Hey are the specs:
Swiftech Q-Power Water
Abit NF7 2.0 (ver. 23 bios) Wire L12 mod
Corsair “extreme” 3200 CL2 512X2 Dual channel DDR
Geforce 4600

Settings:
RAM 3-3-3-10
External Clock - 215
Multiplier - x12.5
AGP Frequency - 80
FSB/DRAM Ratio - SPD
CPU Interface - Enabled

CPu Core - 1.95
DDR SDRAM - 2.9
Chipset - 1.6
AGP - 1.7

Thank in advance for any advice,
BR

did you test for overall stability with prime 95?? Letting that run for 24 hrs will be a good indicator of a stable system. also what are you running your ram at?? if its over 200 mhz you should test its stability with memtest as well. And sometimes you just have to clock your system down in the summertime. I had to myself and ive seen several other ppl's sigs saying "summer oc" as well.

Check your 5 volt.... I have a mobile 2600 and the only reason i cannot push it higher is a combination of my motherboard/power supply because the 5 volt wont stay stable in windows

Just a thought....

I think the prime95 blend test is better for memory than memtest86.
What kind of psu do you have?

Cheapo power supplies have been known to cause this but you have a major overclock there so it may be stable enough to boot but not to run your system under load.

To test the stability of overclocked CPU, download the latest bug fixed version of Prime95:
http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm

Double click on PRIME95.EXE to start the program.

Just Stress Testing (if prompted) > OK >
Options > Torture Test > Blend (if prompted) > OK

The program should not give any errors.
It may be necessary to run the program 12-24 hours to make sure an overclocked system is stable (no program errors displayed).

If you get errors only after several hours, this is a result of slight instability because the system is running with little or no margin. It's stable enough to boot and to be moderately stressed, but as soon as the system is under enough load to go over that critical point, it will freeze. To be 100% stable, Prime95 should run 12-24 hours without any errors.

The point of testing is to see if you get errors or not thus testing the stability. The meaning of errors themselves is not as important.

Running Prime95 Torture Test for 5 to 30 minutes is enough to get a feeling about general stability. If it seems to be stable, increase the FSB (with 0.025V Vcore increase if needed), or increase the multiplier by 0.5.

Reboot and run Prime95 Torture Test for 5 to 30 minutes and repeat this until the Program displays errors.
It's then time to back down and repeat the Torture Test until there are no errors for at least 12 hours.

It's OK to use the computer while Prime95 Torture Test is running in the background.

After finding your stable point you may want to then retest by going to the Advanced section, setting the password to 9876 and then setting Priority to 10. (You won't be able to use your computer while Priority 10 Prime95 Torture Test is running, but it'll confirm your system stability.)

Use 3DMark to test video card stability.

AGP should be at 66?
FBS/Dram Ratio should be 3/3 or 4/4 or 6/6? (6/6 recommaned?)

AGP = 1.7V => is that kindda high guyz?

been told it's best to keep agp at 66. could cause problems otherwise...

as for...

I must totally disagree :)
had it stable for 11.5+ hrs. rebooted after internet browsing & d/l'ing. memtest picked up errors after 1.5 hrs. i only use prime for high fft's to test my core overclock... memtest all the way for mem

I'm glad you mentioned that. Although my experience has been that the Prime95 Blend test picks up more memory errors than memtest86, I guess there must be situations where memtest86 picks up errors that prime95 doesn't.
