Anyone know which motherboards will support the T-Bred???
I'm going to buy an Iwill XP333 soon and I really need to know.
And also, will all the current Socket A coolers work with it?
I have an Alpha 8045 right now.
Plz reply fast cuz I really need to know!
:) :) :) :) :burn:

Don't know right now because manufactures won't release it, first they want to clear the inventory. Go for KT333 chipsets if you want to be sure

Well thanks but I think this is the board i want.
I have had a bad experience with VIA and memory benchmarks is NOT everything that im looking for in a motherboard.
I'll wait a few days then and see what happens.

I think there was an article on toms hardware saying that most current chipsets would work with the t-breds but I'm no totally sure. The new motherboards for t-breds probably won't have socket holes so you wouldn't be able to use the alpha but if you use a t-bred with the mobos now then you'll be fine.

I think that the whole issue sucks, we are not the kind of user that likes the stock HSF or running stock speeds thats what they want i find it as a dirty move from AMD
At least P4 boards have the 4 holes

hey hey. sure, using a heatsink that uses the four holes probably will perform better then most that use the 3 tabs, but my swiftech mcxc370 perforns very nearly just as good as its cousin which uses the holes. also, i find it unlikely that amd could, or would, force mobo makers to not put the socket holes into the board (after all, then they would seem like intel, bullying companies around). wether or not they are there is dependent on who prints the pcb, not on who makes the cpu or even who sells the board.

Yeah sure.
I don't think AMD, Intel or anyone as keeping an eye on all mobo makers and tell them what to do.

"Hmm, is the a hole i see?"
"No, it's a new usb 3.0 interface" ;)

A hole is a hole nothing more :burn:

True it does suck that the socket holes won't be on the new mobos but I'm pretty sure these t-breds run at 1.5v so it won't be as hard to cool them.

It is never enough cooling.
