On a personal note in folding, I had a power blip in the middle of the night during the week. When I woke up in the morning, I forgot to turn on my farm. Then I powered on my main rig and forgot that I don’t start F@H as a service. Two days shot. Oh the troubles we face in life. No one has it harder than I. (Not)

I’ve also been hit with the understanding that I probably won’t get a RTX 3080 until early next year. I don’t want to wait that long. However, I’d rather wait than pay scalper price. Speaking of scalpers, MSI was accused of using a 3rd party reseller to buy Nvidia 3000 series cards, then mark them up and resell them. What must a 1st world citizen do to survive this world?

We will be #8 in the world by Monday for sure. Not bad. Look. we field just around 100 regular guys using personal gear. We are being overtaken by a team that fields almost 2.5k members. To say that we are loosing misses the point entirely. We are in fact winning. I know, the science. It’s all about producing the science and blah blah blah. That’s all great and true. We are winners just for doing the science. Aside from that, we are a small, non-sponsored team. We kick *** because we choose to kick ***. Stay in the game and kick some ***. ***. I just wanted to say that again. ***. Hahahaha….

When I was in the Army in the late ‘80’s, I was stationed next door to a Ranger battalion. Those guys were all skinny and wiry but they loved to fight and they had endurance to last forever. They seemed to thrive on the odds against them. They may have known that they were going to lose a fight but they were determined… determined! to make the other team pay… and pay they would. In that respect, we are like them. The other teams will beat us but we will make them work for it. They will earn their win and if there is an opening, we will reclaim our spot on the world ranking.

The Rangers live by the motto “Rangers Lead The Way” (RLTW). Paratroopers live by “All The Way” (ATW) or “Rendezvous With Destiny”. 1st Infantry has “Follow Me”. 24th Infantry had “Victory”. We have our many mottos at the end of each newsletter. Pick one and go with it. Above all, have fun with it. Trash talk if that’s your thing. Challenge teammates, chide them on, be a mentor, be a coach or cheer leader. Do whatever makes it fun for you.

I come from a Naval family but large bodies of water scare the **** out of me. I only can write about what I know.
