How do you do it? I have a MS Wheel Mouse Optical, and I don't see any screw holes or anything. I want to pull MS's stupid little weight out, and there's also a different mouse I want to get inside to try to fix. Where do I start?

if you dont see any screws, look under any stickers you see. if you still dont, then take out hte ball (if its a ball mouse) and look for some in there. if you dont find any, take a flathead screwdriver and attemt to pry the mouse apart (whre the 2 parts come together)

chances are you'll moul the plastic, though. its probably held together w/ plastic tabs inside it, so it snaps together...

I've done this for the wheel mouse optical. the screws are underneath those "pads". You'll need a small flathead screwdriver to get under the pads. The pads consist of two layers, a thin plastic layer and a black sticker layer. Try to get both off at once. I think the screws are only under 2 or 3 of the 4 pads though. If you have a working USB cable for a Wheel mouse optical let me know please, I need one for mine.

Thanks guys, I'll have a look. Yay for jeweler's screwdrivers...

Sorry, no cable. Although I might be needing one too...

I had a mouse that was built to cut through its cord because the strain relief maze was molded with sharp corners. So when I got its replacement, I opened it up to round off the corners and also the hole where the cord exits. I did that with all my other mice but didn't have to with the Logitech.

The wheel mouse is fine, I just want to take out the little weight.

The other one is an Intellimouse - it cuts out all the time, off and on. I think it's the connection, so I want to open it up to see if something's loose.

ohh right...u did mention that earlier. That intellimouse thing might be the cable...in which case unless u can RMA it I think it might be a goner.

I just opened up the Intellimouse and messed around with the connection. I think one of the little wires might've been shorting...right now it's working great. The connection might've just needed a little tightening.
