lol thats sad - so TN panel LCDs and CRTs do VESA but some LCD TV's dont - I wonder what they use instead.

I always wondered what the hell a 1600x900 resolution was for...maybe thats why I couldn't get my dad's X1 to display @ 1366x768 60hz...it did give me the weird option for 1600x900 though (looked even worse)

But you said the manual should list this?

Create a custom resolution and make sure the TV isn't set to over or underscan... any TV will do this.

The S1 does 1920/1080 from a PC via DVI/HDMI conversion flawlessly btw.

S1's are on HELLASALE right now btw. You can price match one wherever you go. Should be able to pull it off for like $500ish USD maybe 550 TOPS.

Hi
According to me LCD is better than plasma....Plasmas are Good for games and LCD's are good for Quality..

media storage tower

Actually Plasma is better for movies and TV LCD is better for gaming. This is universally accepted.

"Quality" visually by all measures is better on a plasma.

We don't discuss 'quality' and 'good' here. We use specific technical terms and comparisons.

I actually just bought one from Amazon yesterday for $455 shipped. Should be here by the end of the week :)

Thanks theocnoob!!!

Theocnoob >>> thanks for all the excellent info you've posted. I was thinking about a Toshiba Regza, which was on sale, then got interested in Plasmas. You talked up the Panny LCDs so much, I went to check one out, and was astonished.

Wow. They are amazing. I thought I didn't like LCD screens, then I realized I've never seen a good one till now.

I just bought one for $413 shipped. 6ave.com has them for $440 shipped, and BONUSBUY is the code for 6% off on top of that.

6ave is offering em through Amazon as well. Through amazon you get a no hassle return if you don't like it on 32" tvs. Through 6ave you get price matching, up to 30 days after the sale as well.

Is the TC-L32S1 a good LCD for First Person Shooters? I need to replace my 22" NEC CRT.

I liked it for COD4 but the response time @ 8 sec means you don't get sharp motion. You don't get ghosting per say with an 8ms IPS-A but you do get noticebaly 'reduced motion resolution' to 800 lines according to Panasonic if I recall and somewhat of a blurry image in fast movement. IMO the obscene color gamut and accuracy really made it worthwhile. Much more immersive. The advantage of a much more delicate handling of color is an increase in image definition, as it is gradiation rather than resolution that your eye usually associates with sharpness.

Thank you for taking my advice. The TCLS1 has a really really sharp screen. It's probably the sharpest screen I've ever seen. If you're willing to put up with the slightly poor response time and poor off angle black everything else about it is great. It's especially good for the price for movies and gaming. The static contrast for the price is rediculously good. I don't think it can be beaten for the price. Have you hooked a PS3 or 360 up to it?
