We need a TV network for everything IT. Like there could be How To Hour, Cutting Edge Hardware and Software Hour, An Auction Hour, Spotlight Different Tech Companies and so on. Is there something like this on TV or You Tube?? Maybe not, idk? What do you guys think?

There used to be a cable network with all sorts of tech shows in the early 2000’s. It was called TechTV - go figure. The host of several shows was Leo Laporte and he is still around, but podcasting these days. Seems he works with many other tech podcasters too.
Thanks for the link! That looks super cool..

It seems like getting sponsors would be a slam dunk for such a TV channel.

JLK, thank you again!

Call For Help w/Leo was one of my favorite shows before it was moved to Tech tv, I think it was on the G4 network.
Now i live and learn on you tube. Linus is a joke imo, I cant take him serious anymore.

The only issue with sponsors on a show like this is that you can't tell if the reviews are legit or money driven. I'm thinking about those Saturday morning auto and truck building shows (Two Guys Garage and All Girls Garage) that are just one sponsor after another. Every part they install was a sponsor product. In the end you just get a half hour of advertising. It's an infomercial trying to look like entertainment.

If you give a product a bad review, they stop advertising. This is where YouTube and pod casting have stepped in I think.

I too remember TechTV in name only. I can't recall any episode.

Yep, that goes along with general reasons why I don't generally trust/like websites that have sponsors/ads for the product that they are speaking of. If I go to a gaming site and there's ads all over for the latest Assassin's Creed (or whatever) then it makes me second guess them. That was something that I always appreciated about GiantBomb, Jeff Gerstmann, and the Nextlander folks that they avoid anything that could be considered a conflict of interest.

On the Call For Help show they used to have a Warez! segment which always made me laugh. Back then it was like we were all learning about all this stuff, no matter our age.

Some of those car shows were the worst. "Today we'll be installing a full top-end on this 350 block, brought to you by Edelbrock". And there isn't a gasket, RTV or torque wrench in the building.
