Is 60*C (140*F) too hot for a PII 400@533 under full load? Not a high quality HSF just some $10 generic one.
 
Yes, thats far too hot for an Intel chip, im surprised it runs at that temp
 
If was any Intel except a PII 400 it probably wouldn't be running. They are a hot SOB anyway, but a new heatsink/fan is called for here.
 
Thanks, I did lower the temp 8-12*F.
I cleaned off the thermal paste then cleaned the core with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. I Let it dry then reapplied the paste and the temps dropped.
