my athlon 2000XP on idle temp is 55c.i am using cooler master heat pipe hhc-001 and thermal paste.why still so high my temp?i just buy this cpu for 1 day

can you give us some of your system specs? (mobo, etc.) that might help try to figure if you are getting a false reading or if the heat pipe is not getting the heat from the processor core...

i am using MSI K7T TURBO 2.i use mbm5 to monitor the temp.what u mean by the hipe pipe not function.how we know?

one way to check to see if the heat pipe is touching the processor core correctly would be to reseat it. it is possible that it is not level and that can make a huge difference of how much heat is dissipated through the heat pipe. there are some mobos that are known for showing high temperatures (as much as 10-15*) i am not sure why, but some have pathetic temperature sensors... do you guys know anything about his mobo???

Don't know much about his MOBO, but...
I have a HHC-001 cooling my second processor - an athlonMP2000. It makes a difference which way up the heatsink is, as that is how the heatpipe works. What you should do is make sure that the end of the pipes near the fan is above the end of the pipes on the CPU. Then they will work properly. Also make sure your mainboard voltage to the CPU is correct. Do the reseating thing and make sure your heatsink is on correctly as well if possible. My temperatures are 37C idle - but my room temp is 20C. Probably cooler than malaysia.
