Ok, here is a weird one for you. We've got an old, (Win2K old) CAM software that is no longer supported by the manufacturer that we have to keep around because of a compatibility issue with our EDM machine. We've been able to move it over to a Vista machine because the Win2K machine has failing hardware. Most everything works.

Except the program uploader. The files are uploaded over a 9pin RS232 cable. The settings are 4800 baud, 7 data bits, 2 stop bits, even parity.

Anybody know a stand-alone program that will do this that works well on Vista?

I think Putty can handle that.

I use putty a fair amount, but I'm not sure what all would need to be configured. For example, the 7,E,2 setting, would that go in Environmental Variables, and if so, what format? Is there a guide you could point me to?

Thank you!
