Ok, I think I know what the problem is. I think there was a post similar to mine by Tantanum or something ... but if you read his, and if you read mine, they're similar, but different.

Well, I only installed the CPU, heatsink, video card, hard drive, floppy, and cd drive. I have only a 300 Watt power supply, but that's not the problem. See, this is my first computer I've started building. Well, I flick on the power switch, push the power button, and lo and behold, the fans start to spin! I do a little happy dance, and turn on the monitor, thinking all is well. It says there's no signal cable.

I have just checked the GeForce II I had on my new computer (it's in this computer right now) and it's fine. Counter-Strike runs at 45-48-ish FPS. Don't know if that's right or not, but it's better than by 18 FPS TNT.

The heatsink is a Millenium Glaciator II; I think I did something to the CPU, but I don't know what. I checked the core, and to my eyesight, nothing is chipped. But if something was wrong with the core, the blank screen would result, right?

OK, sounds like your getting a little ahead of yourself. If the cpu core was damaged, you would see it. Ive chipped one before (thanks the gods only 1!~!) and I could see it. Im quite sure you could see it with the naked eye as well. So Im going to start off saying that is more thank likely not the problem.

Now, it says there is no signal cable.

Now, first, check ALL cable connections. Good thinking about checking the vid card. So you now know its not the problem. Now go through and double check, even unplug and reseat everygthing. Make sure its in ALL the way. Check the vid card to see if its in enough. Check your ram, make sure its in far enough, listen for the clicks when it snaps into place.

Check it all. 2 or 3 times then try to power it up again. If you know the make/model of the motherboard, you may be able to find the beep codes for it. So you could listen to see if it tells you whats not connected right.

Just a couple suggestions...!~! Luck to yea, and let us know how it fares for you or post if you have any more questions!~!

oh yea ~ Welcome Aboard :D
