Our benching team needs your help!
Help us to be the best team in "history." We have all taken up our hardware in arms and we are currently fighting for the title in Hwbot's "Team Cup 2012" Everyone is invited to participate! This is a huge competition, and any help you can give is appreciated!

The Contest

Hwbot

The HWBOT Team Cup 2012 features 6 different sub-competitions, each focusing on different hardware and benchmarks and runs for a period of 3 months (June-July-August). More than enough time to gather the troops and aim for the highest spot! Good luck!

The Cup is, as previously mentioned, divided into 6 sub-competitions. For each sub-competition, you can gather points based on the team's final position in the sub-competition. In the end, the team with the most points wins the competition ... it's as simple as that! Similar to last year's Country Cup, there are three different sub-competition levels:

Level 1: 13 stages, 3 months.
Level 2: 7 stages, 1.5 months.
Level 3: 5 stages, 1 month.

AMD
The First contest to end, is the AMD SuperPi32m contest. Try to get the best time in completing the benchmark. There are 5 categories of AMD cpu that we need to try to get the best time possible in each category.
K6
K7
K8
K10
Vision
You can see that this contest covers the History of AMD.
Be aware that this benchmark will take a while to complete on older hardware. Also be aware that even last place in a class is far better than nothing, so if you have an old board that doesn't overclock well submit anyway, it'll help!
At the very least you'll get a point on HWBot for submitting to a competition.
This goes for all the sections, not just the AMD SuperPi32M section. There is some fairly obscure hardware out there that we need to find.

Core 2
The next stage in this event is a competition with Intel's Core 2 generation of processors. The benchmark is a fairly new benchmark called Ucbench2011. It is a multi threaded benchmark that tests your cpu. download here We need to complete the benchmark and get the best result that we can in each of the categories:

S1: Core 2 8000 series
S2: Core 2 7000 series
S3: Core 2 6000 series
S4: Core 2 5000 series
S5: Core 2 4000 series
S6: Core 2 3000 series
S7: Core 2 2000 series

Geforce
The third contest that is running now is the "GeForce History Tour". It is a 3Dmark03 contest that we need to submit results for each of 13 categories:

S1: GeForce 256 series
S2: GeForce 2 series
S3: GeForce 3 series
S4: GeForce 4 series
S5: GeForce 5 series
S6: GeForce 6 series
S7: GeForce 7 series
S8: GeForce 8 series
S9: GeForce 9 series
S10: GeForce 200 series
S11: GeForce 400 series
S12: GeForce 500 series
S13: GeForce 600 series

We encourage everyone to represent overclockers.com in this contest. Submissions for all contests need to be to hwbot standards and everyone that participates must therefore, sign up for an hwbot account and agree to follow their rules. There is a background required for the screenshot. We have already started on these and results are starting to be submitted. There are also more stages coming that have not started yet: Sub-competition 3:"Memory Clock" (starts July 15th), Sub-competition 5:"IGP Platform" (Starts July 1st), and Sub-competition 6:"PCMark05 xCore"(Starts August 1st).

There is a reason to help us beyond the fun of benchmarking and the challenge of competition. Prizes!

There will be at least two random draw prizes for anybody that submits a benchmark. Likely two drawings for $20 ea.
There will be at least two more random draw prizes for the people that have our highest team score in a category. One drawing for $45 and one drawing for a motherboard. Once I get the exact model I will post that here.

These are the names of those that have participated so far. If you have made a submission and do not see your name here, let me know. It is required to be eligible for the participation drawing.

Hwbot also has prizes to be given away. (check there for info)

Lastly, the entire benching team is here to help you! Feel free to post in the Benching Team Section with any questions, comments, concerns, Glorious Scores, etc. you may have. We're happy to help with any part of this operation, from how to set up a HWBot account to what needs to be in the screenshots to fairly obscure settings to help boost 3d03 scores.

Hints.
For the AMD superpi 32m competition some processors will get better results than others. If you have any that fit into a category you are encouraged to submit your results.

K6- K6, K6 II, K6 III
K7- Socket 462
K8- Pre-phenom AM2/AM2+ stuff would be best, 939 will work, but won't win.
K10- Phenom2 chips, AM3 will likely take it.
Vision- Bulldozer and FM1 APUs, which wins will depend on clock speed.

For the core2 contest -ucbench. More cores is better = Quad cores are best, but if there is no submission at all, for that category, then submit your best dual core!

S1: Core 2 8000 series We need Q8200, Q8300, Q8400
S2: Core 2 7000 series Q7500, Q7600, Q7700
S3: Core 2 6000 series Q6600 and Q6700
S4: Core 2 5000 series Pentium E5200 - E5900
S5: Core 2 4000 series Core2 E4200 to E4700
S6: Core 2 3000 series Celeron E3200 - E3500 or Core2 E3900
S7: Core 2 2000 series Pentium E2100 - E2220

The Geforce history contest is single card 3dmark '03. 3Dmark 2003 tests your graphics card and your cpu. Overclock both for maximum results. Faster cpu's will increase the score quite a bit. Max 2 cores is needed, so, if you have a quad core you can reduce the core running and overclock a little faster if possible.

1. Geforce 256 series.

2. Geforce2 series. includes: Geforce2MX400, Geforce2 (pro , ultra, TI, Etc.)

3. Geforce3 series. includes: Geforce3, Geforce3 TI200, Geforce3 ti 500

4. Geforce4 series. includes: GeForce4 MX 460, MX440, Ti4200, Ti4600 Etc.

5. Geforce5 series. includes: Fx5500, Fx5600 Etc. I would guess 5900 or 5950 preferred

6. Geforce6 series. includes: Geforce 6000's 6800xt and ultra's are probably preferred

7. Geforce7 series. Includes Geforce 7000's 7900's or 7950's are needed

8. Geforce8 series. Includes Geforce 8000's. 8800GTX or ultra is needed

9. Geforce9 series. Includes Geforce 9000's 9800gtx or gtx+ is best.

10. Geforce 200 series. Includes GTX275, GTX 280. Probably 275, 280 or
285 are needed

11. Geforce 400 series Gtx 480 required

12. Geforce 500 series. GTX 580 scores are needed.

13. Geforce 600 series. GTX 680 is required.

Feel free to submit on lower powered GPUs in a given generation, it certainly cannot hurt and you will get the one point for submitting to a competition.
The odds of a GTS450 doing anything useful in the GF 4xx series section are minimal however. In an older section, such as the GF4 section, even a bargain basement card may end up being crucial if we cannot find a higher end card.

Feel free to post in the benchmarking area if you have any questions, comments or if you want to participate!

Update!!!! 6/19/2012

We still need your help!

We are currently in 4th place overall in the Team Cup.

In the AMD/ superpi32m contest we are currently 6th place.
This event is the first one to close and we need all the help we can get! There are 2 categories, in which, we do not have any results. We need anyone that has a AMD K6,K6 II, or AMD K6 III cpu to submit a result. We also have no result submitted for a K7 cpu. So anyone that has one of those: Please Submit a score!

In the core2 era cpu/ UCbench contest we are currently 7th place.
We have 4 categories with no submissions! We need to get those scores in!

In the Geforce contest we are 5th place. We also have some categories without submissions here, but there is a lot of time left for this contest. If you have an earlier model of card (AGP) we do need you to submit.

We need socket 775 intel cpu results submitted. All cpu series from E2000 through Q8000 need to be run!

Update!!! 7/10/12

Good Job so far!! We are looking real good in these contests! If we can get submissions in for everything it would move us up very nicely. We are in the running to be at the top of any of these categories. The core2 / ucbench is the next contest to close and we still need submissions in 2 categories!! As of right now there is only a little over 4 days left in that contest!
Anyone with a core 2 era chip should run ucbench and see if they can get a higher score.

Nice score! Thanks for helping us out.

I am sure we could help you to improve your score, if you are interested let us know.

You could try to beat the current top score. It is with an 8800gts.

I'll give it another go, there's a couple things I want to try with the processor and OS so I know where I'm at, the Ram (speed and timings) I have a lot to learn (would appreciate some help there for sure). This 8120's NB seems very weak, pushing it past 2300Mhz is a real chore, and 2400Mhz seems undo-able with air cooling.

I'd love to join in on this but I won't be able to qualify in time according to the Benching Team page. I bet my 680 can contribute decently to this for sure. Bummer.

You don't have to be on the benching team to submit for the competition, you just have to join the "overclockers.com" team on hwbot and you will be ready to go. Thanks for your'e contribution and interest in this

Awesome thanks for that. Hopefully I can get top 3.

One more question do I need to do the CPU too or strictly the GPU?

A CPU OC will help your 3d03 score a lot. You don't have to submit any CPU scores though.

Thanks for helping! :D

Okay thanks I thought so. Maybe I can hit 1345 in it. 1340 seems to be my stable peak but will try for more. Hope I can win this lol that would be incredible. Thanks for the help guys

Please note that to submit for th competition you need to click the "Particpate competition" link under the stage you are wanting to enter. You do not want to use the general "submit score" button. Go to competitions- then go to the team cup 2012- then click the stage that you are wanting to submit for. Then the participate competition button.
