Hey Guys,

Yeah I know I'm going on and on about Dual board, VP6 this P3 that..

Well thats because I've been saving since December when I first signed up on this board, and I've finaly got enough cash to get the basics!

I'm looking at getting a VP6 and One P!!!700E cCo stepping chip, along with 1 stick of 256mb pc133 Ram (wish I could get PC-150 Ram, in 512mb)

What I want to know is if this is a good set up to get into now...
If I can run the VP6 with one Chip or not, and where I cant get a p3 700E cCo!

Also, if you happen to have a better board/chip on your mind let me know.

Perhaps the latest Amd Board and Chip? *Laughs*... ok so maybe not.

Thanks for reading,

I have two VP6's and they are great, stable overclocking boards. You might want to go to the forum at http://www.2cpu.com for more info about other MBs.

It will run one cpu just fine.

Great, thanks for answering, hope you have time to answer the list of questions I left for you in your private inbox :p

Just one more while I'm here.

What is the BEST P3700 chip for overclocking?
I know the cCo stepping is the best, but what Week/Fab/Code/Ect ?

Thanks again,

I don't put much weight into the week thing. In processes as involved as making these chips, two chips next to each other on the line may be totally different. Plants do seem to matter, as the cb0 Malay chips seemed to overclock the best.

I have 2 Philipine cc0's at 1GHz (VP6), and 2 cb0 Malays at 1GHz (2nd VP6), and a single cb0 Malay at 1050 (BF6/Abit Slotket III). I tried two Costa Rica chips (I think they might have been cc0 but don't recall for sure) and they weren't happy at 933 without extreme cooling, and didn't want to go any higher (yet another VP6).

So, in my limited experience, I would stay away from the Costa Rica stuff.
