which is the absolute beast, ops I meant best intel motherboard for overclocking ?:attn:
my budget is 200, I do not want to have to spend that if I do not have to though.
I just want the best my money can buy.
Something full of neat and useful features.

You dont have enough money to buy the best money can buy (you also dont need that for great overclocks on ambient cooling).. but for $200, I would grab this..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131830 - Neat, but some of the features are made for extreme overclockers...

Really if you are just looking ambient overclocks, less will do as well. Giga Z77 UD3H, and Asrock Z77 Extreme4.

how does the GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

compare to say:

Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

I am avoiding Asus because people here in Europe have had alot of trouble returning them and getting them back.
So I'm interested in the Gigabyte ones , since they are based in the UK.

Unless you have thunderbolt stuff I don't see any reason to spend more money on a thunderbolt motherboard, personally.

Great picks. The ASUS Maximus V is a great mobo from what I've seen, although built to be compact, it packs a heck of a punch. the mPCIe slot is a great way to add features to your computer without adding a lot of weight or clogging up airflow -- it can be used for small form factor SSD's, and there's also a wireless NIC available from ASUS (sold separately). I've never seen that feature on any other board, but it uses industry standard architecture, really neat, and geared to overclockers. High on my mobo list..:-/ but we'll see.:rain:
