I just read the reviews at Tom's Hardware and I want opinions from people now. Which one do you like better or prefer? I currently have Altec Lansings. Only 2.1 though. They are quite old and I like them. But I need something better now. Which should I get?

I can only tell you my experience with the z560.
I have them and i love them. I don't have the Altec lansing 641 so i cannot say if the logitechs are beter or worse. But for the money the logitechs are good.
I was reading maximumPC and they gave it a 10/10
The bass of these things amazed me when i got them, the treble was farily loud also but the bass amazed me.
 :D
But before deciding Hopefully someone will reply that has Altec Lansing 641 or has heard some altec lansings.

I have Altec Lansing ACS 54s. For a low priced system they sound very good. But unfortunately for me one of my buddies bought the Klipsch 4.1s. Talk about kick ***!

I thought the Klipsch were nice, but I don't think they're worth what they cost. I think they start to fuzz out at too low a volume.

The z560s are very popular for the volume they can reach and their price tag.

I just saw them at Best Buy. Rent them...I mean, buy them, test them out, and if you like them return them and buy them from newegg for $140 :)

I would buy them if I had a place to put the back speakers, I have no use for 4.1 right now.

I have the Z560's as well, and they kick ***. Look-up the reviews on the internet and you will find they are on-par with the Kliptch.

Go for the Z-560's, Maximum PC did give them a 10/10 and they also declared the 560's their new fav 4.1 rig, over the Kliptch.

Are the Speakers for the Logtech Wall mountable? I'm still going to get those... Man I bet it sounds real good..Oh Btw Does the Sub move alot of air? I saw the Speakers at Compusa..Along with the Klisph 5.1's I have no need for the 5.1 but anyway The sub port was larger.. so I'm sure you wont get that Rummble sound..

agreed, the z560s are incredible. as for the sub, its an 8" and the tube is a "U" shape inside the box to make it longer. it helps, these thing will knock the pictures off your walls.

edit: the speaker stands come off and turn around to mount to the wall.

Great! So I can hang them on the wall... I have a little poll here... In games like UT and TFC they have setting to take use of 4 Speakers..Do any of you every use it.. I Used the EAX and the A3d it's not bad in UT Can't really tell in Tfc.. But in UT sounds good.. But seems to slow the system down a little or maybe it's just because my system is slow.

I had the Klipsch Pro Media 4.1, sold them, and bought the Logitech Z560's, and I don't miss the Klipsch's at all. Also, I play UT alot and I have the Hercules GTXP and it sounds awesome with the 4.1. When your hear rockets behind you, too late... lol

best bang 4 the buck???

most def, the Z560's!!!! mine are 2 days old and i am more than happy. if you are not a discerning audiophile which i can be sometimes then these are for you. it's an 8-inch sub. anything more would be nuts. i won't talk too much on that note cause my car stereo is pretty nasty. the only beef i have with this system is with the control box that attaches to your sound card. it has a power button, M3D, bass, fader and volume. NO TREBLE. i don't really worry about it cause my sound card is the herc gtxp and the s/w incorporates a 10 band eq. or if you have winamp or something like that then you are good to go. i am ugrading from a combination of 2 systems strung together. the acs 44 and cambridge fps1000 4.1. not a bad upgrade in my mind!!!

how about this..

nice. better watch that greenish yellow plastic cup you have there doesn't contain any un-friendly liquids that may fall into your harmon/kardon unit!!

only the finest budwieser goes into that cup and it's only up there when it's empty.. I got a fridge right behind there that's always stocked full.. lol..

sure ... come on over.. u have a long drive though from ontario.. I hear canada has some fine products of it's own.. lol..

I am the proud owner of Logitech Z-560 speakers. I weighed all the options and finally scored a set of these bad boys....boy oh boy was I happy....gaming and DVD's are awesome throughout the volume scale....bass...you want bass....were talking wall shaking bass....simply incredible!!! and wall mountable....
