There's a hole-in-the-wall place in Los Alamos NM called the Black Hole. Owner is about 85 years old and has mainly LANL surplus equipment from the fifties to eighties, last time I was up there I found some antique hard drives (shiny :D ) and a few freestanding machines that would make killer PC cases. Sadly, most of that stuff is probably more than I can afford. He's been fighting with the town for years as they claim it's an "eyesore" (hullo, it's on a side road in a part of town that's not exactly a tourist destination and you'd never know the place was there unless you were actively looking for it).

My dad's question is: what happens to the stuff when he dies? The town doesn't want it, and most of it can't be disposed of the usual way...

we should get a sticky made in supplier discussion of shops like these, because a lot of times people don't know they exist, even if they are just the other side of town.
