That's a heck of a lot of structure you cut out of that case i would check it when you have the new plates fitted! To make sure it is sturdy and sound boy you do not hold back with the cutter? When i first saw what you done i said wow wee that's a heck amount of steel buddy. Will look in tomorrow and see how you get on there bye for now. Phil.

The structure is fine, its not the flat parts holding the case together. Its pretty much as solid as when i started. The strength is in the corners, and edges. ;) Not the first time im going this mad on a case :)

Should be finished and start going back together tomorrow.:D

Update.

I took the top mesh, and cut most the plastic out.

Got the front 2x120mm mount finished up.

My so far only UCCL12 mounted.

I even made the holes able to fit the little rubber mounts.

I found out today, that my HD7970 is late, so i wont get my parts until monday :(

Hey is that always the case when your in between building some thing the courier is late or they haven't shipped your parts yet!! Oh well gives you time to clean the dust of the parts and get them ready to be fitted later. Nice work there Phil.

Another delay. My GPU STILL hasnt arrived at the shop, all my fans are waiting, hdd and my NAS unit. :( So im looking at tuesday next week, and maybe even wednesday.

That's sad, but on the bright side when you do it will be all go to finish the job! AJ.

So i spent my friday installing the hardware i do have, and running wires.

I got a few things i need to sort so cable management will be a bit better.

Since im no longer using the 3,5" bays, cable management isnt as pretty, im not happy, but i dont see how i can improve it right now.

Now the wait for parts :(

What did you use for the SSD and the HDD to stay in place? Looks neat and tidy like that, hey chill Pierre its coming along fine. I know not faster enough for you, but its taking shape really well. Phil.

The SSD is held with double sided tape, and the HDD's are held with screws. I did consider buying bays for holding 3,5 in 5,25" bays, but im happy with how its sitting right now, and hopefully the my CFX will get full benefit of the 2x120mm fans.

I have during my build considered if i should have the fans on the H70 pull air from behind the case into the case, since i have 2x120mm pulling fans out in the top. I dont know which way to go with this?

Leave the H70 airflow alone is my suggestion. It may give you 1-2 improvement but it may warm up the internals as well.

The best way i think is this!

1, Front Fans 2 x 120mm input cool air.
2, Top Fans 2 x 120mm Hot air output.
3, Rear Mount H70 Pulling air out of case through rad and out the back.
4, option 1 x 120mm blowing cool air onto the pair of 7970's and yes you don't like this! ;)

I agree.

Finally! After putting in the order on the 28th with a delivery set as the 3rd, my parts have finally come in! 5 days late!

But anyways, let us begin!

and a shot of the back, which im not happy with, but i dont see how i can make it different, so it'll have to do.

Now its finished, for now, and its a short now, because im already unhappy with cooling, believe it or not.
The Enermax UCCL12 are really silent fans, do not doubt this, at full speed with 4 of these bad boys, its still more quiet then with 2x 200mm Corsairs stock fans.

But the 2 front fans, just dont push hard enough, its a soft blow, and in all honesty, it dies before even getting to the GPU's which was the purpose.

Plan A, is to hand another fan, yet unknown, under the 5,25" bay, yet, i also need to make a stand for the saggy GPU's. I have a bunch of ideas in my head, but the apprentice at my work, (metal shop) is off at school for 10weeks, and i need him for welding up my idea, to be made in stainless steel. The idea in short, it, stand for the GPU's with a mount for a fan that can go very close to the GPU's.

I also need to mod the Arctic cooling fans, as they are spinning at a sleeping pace of 600rpm. This is due to a sensor on them, that will be removed so i manually can change the speed.

Im happy with the result, but need tweaking. Stay tuned, i will update more as i work out how i need to make the stand for the GPU.

Update.

The UCCL12's are very quiet even at full speed, but the air is losing most its energy/speed before it gets to the GPU's.

My hope was that the 2x120 would be able to move some air too, but this isnt the case.

So i have ordered a UCCL14 that will be mounted under the 5.25" bays to push air into the top placed GPU, since its working hard to keep cool.

It looks stunning but i am puzzled like you i understood with the 2 fans at the front it should move more air!!! So whats the CFM and Speed of those Enermax fans? But still a great job Pierre congrats. Phil.

The specs are: CFM 26,51 - 53,02 and speed 500~1200rpm.
