It is a nice monitor! So much nicer than my old one. I think this was the big popular item in these forums this year. Anyway, Mine's great. It has 1 pixel stuck on blue, but it's in a really unnoticable place in the upper lefthand corner. I'm very happy with it.

woke up at 4:30am
took shower
ate some cereal
warmed up the car
drove to store
waited in line
and i got a hp v

why couldn't every day be black friday

everything in circuit city seemed..more expensive than normal
i.e. generic 15" lcd for 250
only thing i would consider buying was 6.1 pioneer reciever for 120 no rebates

hey, did anyone notice how many of those sandisk sansa mp3 players they had left at cc? when i went there were literally 2 giant bins full of them and alot of them were scattered all over the store. i dont think they sold very many of those.

At the Dallas, TX location I went to I bought one of the last two 1GB models, with there being only around a dozen 512MB versions left. And this was about 7am, so it's safe to assume it was more popular in different areas.

HOLY CRAP! :D Did anyone else buy the Dynex UPS from Best Buy? That thing is frickin' amazing! I've never bought a 'medium end' UPS before. This one has a greally great software suite which lets you do such things as turn off those stupid alarms during the hours when you typically sleep, & test the UPS through software. It even estimates how much battery power you have left (minutes), and tells you how many watts you're using.

It doesn't modulate power like high end UPS's do, but it's a great deal at $40 IMHO!

Edit:
It's still availble at many stores in my area, but is sold out online--the SKU is 7304785.

Scored the 32" LCDTV at Frys for $700 (Brand: Emprex?) I still need to figure out if it looks crappy because I'm not using component cables or the video isnt 1080p. etc...

I bought my belkin 900VA 540W for 69.99 or 79.99 after MIR, because my 1100VA 600W belkin couldnt run both rigs in my system without shutting one down if the other was under load. That one was 90 bucks after rebates a month ago, now i have a total of 2000VA on 1000+W on two batteries for about 150bucks.

Well, I waited in front of Best Buy from 11:30PM until opening and got the following.
-Toshiba Laptop Computer (L25-S1192) - $379.99
-eMachine Desktop PC (T3406) - $149.98
-Kodak Digital Camera (C360) - $129.99
-Lexmark Printer/Scanner (X2350) - FREE with Toshiba laptop ($75-$80 rebate =$5 profit)
-Two PNY 1GB USB Flash drives - $19.99 each (AR)
-SanDisk Micro Cruzer (picked it up by accident, its going back. $75 is not a bargain.)
-SanDisk 512MB SD card - $19.99 (AR)
-PNY 512MB USB Flash drive - $16.99
-Sony 16x Dual layer/format burner - $39.99 (AR)
-Apple iPod Nano 2GB version - $199.99 (Also being returned. Not a deal)
-MAG 19" LCD Monitor - $169.99 (AR)
-MAG 17" LCD Monitor - $149.99 (AR)
-25 CD-R/75 DVD+R combo pack - $2.99 (AR)

Being honest, I've got to mention that I love eMachines. Regardless of the fact that they're not top of the line, I've owned several and have never had a single thing die on them.
Sadly enough, I don't have the money to pay for all of this merchandise. So I've already sold the eMachine Desktop to some people here in town for $350. That and they want to pay me to set it up for them.
This was my second black friday, but it was the coldest yet. Temperatures were roughly 17F degrees.

I got one on Saturday evening at about 8 pm. The Best Buy in my area (Bangor, ME) still had about two dozen of them. It looks like a great unit. It's a rebranded Cyberpower unit with USB and serial interfaces. I need to see how well it fares with my duallie, but it cost me $8 after redeeming a $20 gift card and $14 in McDonald's Best Buy Bucks (which expire on 12/3 if anyone has them kicking around).

Off topic, but I just noticed your sig. That 3.0ghz Prescott runs at 85c?! You should work on cooling, that's way to hot.

You would be surprised how much it takes to nuke a processor. ;) Depending on the revision of Prescott, the Intel Tcasemax specifications for the Prescott's vary between 67 and the low 70's °C. Running at that temperature is above what Intel recomends and warranties the CPU for. Then again, if you have done any overclocking that is running it out of spec too thus also voiding the warranty.

I would recomend looking into that and seeing about lowering it into the 60's just to be on the safe side, but usually Intel sets those ratings very generously and at stock speeds it would probably take upwards of 100°C to make that processor unstable.

As for my BF, I got:

1 200GB Seagate 7.2K RPM 8mb cache PATA drive at CompUSA for 29.99 AR
1 BBA X700 Pro 256mb AGP at Best Buy for 99.99 AR

A week or so before BF I got a Logitec MX1000 at staples for 40 bucks AR :D

--160 GB Seagate internal HDD $30 AR (one of those rebates is through Best Buy so it's anyone's guess whether I'll actually see it)
--Razer Diamondback $40 (last one on the shelf)
--NVidia MX4000 PCI vidcard $20 (Myst games don't like my ATi card)
--Myst V Collector's Edition $40

Went at about 10 AM, not horribly crowded.
