Hey guys

Currently in my "OC zone"

Got my Q9950 from 2.83ghz to 3.53ghz on a noctua cooler, ram is at 1106mhz (g skillz ddr2).

Now my old but still good BGF GTX 280. Got it at 710/1560/1156. Roughly 17-18% from reference. Stock cooler, just lots of air running to it.

Now, I took it appart to swap out the thermal paste to some arctic silver 5. Cleaned off the processor and copper contact. My question lies in the "white patches" on the heat sink. Should I remove them and dap some arctic silv 5 on those or just leave them on ?

Just leave the white thermal pads where they are, I wouldn't recommend getting Arctic Silver 5 anywhere near your VRAM chips.

leave them or replace them with thermal pads.
don't use paste on the memory chips.
if they are in good condition, which they seem to be from the picture, just leave them.
