Hello Guys,

Does anyone know of any websites that have done reviews or
have pics of the newest thermalright & thermaltake heatsinks on the NF7S V2.0

Because im in need of a new cooler soon and would prefer one
of the newer thermalright Or Thermaltake ones,
(ie) Volcano 12 / SLK947 ext ext ..

But im a little worried about the size of the thermalright ones
as there a little on the BIG side ..

And i would be gratefull if you would contribute any
info or pic's you think would help me in my decision ..

Thanks ..

you can find good reviews at www.overclockers.com
everyone on the forum will probably erge you got get the thermalright over the volcano because it out preforms it by a landslide. Although its big, if you install it right, you shouldn't have any problems, even if you're a lan party-er.

Bummer dood ,it says it wont fit your mobo! The SLK-947..
NF7-S 1.2 fits ** remarks *NF7-S (REV 2.0) will not fit

But we dont give up that easy. THE FANMAN:cool:
Is this your mobo by chance:NF7-SRev 2 Ultra400 ?

HS LINK

According to the chart at Thermalright this is the HS for your mobo model and processor. :D

Sk7's are great and cheap thermalright heatsinks. if you mount a tornado or a ttcasefanII to it, you should get pretty good perforamnce. if you watn something quiet, go for the Thermaltake silent boost. its not the best thing in teh world, but its sufficient. i havent tried any other heatsinks, but i have used many of the volcano series heatsinks. i prefer the Sk7. the only problem is that its a hard find now. good luck.

First off, Welcome to the Forums! You've probably already got the welcome, but I might as well. Lol.

I would go with a Thermalright heatsink. If you get a bolt on version the size and weight of it is supported well so you don't have to worry about it damaging anything. The SLK-947 will fit on the later NF7 boards with a little grinding from what I've heard. You could also get the SP-97 which is very similar to the SLK series, but with heatpipes. It is said to outperform the SLK-947.

Does it have 4 mounting holes around the CPU socket? It looks to be a clip like setup to me! If so you will need the other HS I linked to earlier. THE FANMAN:cool:

I went and got it for you!:p

Nope its got four good looking holes ready for a nice BIG heatsink :)

Great now you can get the cream of the crop. The SP-97 HS by Thermalright. With heat pipe technology. Dont forget the fan and some AS 5 TIM. THE FANMAN:cool:

Roger that on the HS !!

And thank you, Happy new year to you and all :D

Btw What HS & Fan's are you lot using ?

I've got an SP-97 in-route on a brown truck or maybe a distribution facility. Lol. I plan on using the Smart Fan 2 off my current Volcano 11 on it. It is a good fan, and I didn't have cash for a different fan and a rheostat. This one already has a nice speed adjuster on it so I figured I might as well use it.

Hello!

I am new as well and your post is the first one I read, lol and I think I can help u very well.

I am using a NF7-S V2.0 as well, with a Barton 2800. I have a Thermalright SLK 947-U on, and I can ensure you that it fits perfectly without bending away capacitors or something. I got a very loud Delta 80mm fan on it, and the temperature it indicates is 31 idle and 34 load. Although I don't know if I should consider these values as valid (seems a little bit low for a 2800, but ok, it's a Thermalright) , it's still nice.

If u are going to choose between Thermalright and Thermaltake I would definitely go with Thermalright. I believe the SLK 947-U is their latest and best performing AMD heatsink right now. I isnt really a cheap heatsink but it is one of the very best.

Your in the uk right??? have you found anywhere you can buy a sp-97

Ive been looking but have not had any luck so far.

Heres where i have been looking (They do some other good Thermalright hsinks)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Thermalright_120.html

http://www.chillblast.com/customer/home.php?cat=71

Theres just about every good hsink avalible in the uk there

Right from the sk-7 which is the best bang for you buck hsink to the sp-94 which is basicly the sp-97 for intel. BUT NO SP-97! where are they??

BTW. Im using slk-800s and sk-7s. Most of the members of this forums will be using a Thermalright hsink but some go for Swiftech or Zalman.
