Real quick question, anybody replaced the fan on one? I was contemplating maybe a Delta.. If anyone has done it and knows the fan deminsions let me know.

V7+ fan

The fan is 70mm x 70mm. At top speed it moves 49cfm.

Thanks, I knew the CFM's just didnt know the demisnions. You know where I can get one with more CFM's?

I got a couple of fans from www.nexfan.com You also might try www.sidewindercomputers.com ... But I haven't seen any 70mm fans other than the one by Thermaltake. You could make a small adapter and use an 80mm fan. The 80mm Deltas will blow the papers off your desk, although I heard they sound like vaccuum cleaners.

May I know if you had any problem installing your V7+? On mine, the HSF is barely making any contact w/ the CPU die...

I tried bending the retention clip as well as inserting washers between the clip and the base attachment but no luck!!!

I lapped mine before I installed it. I didnt have any probs. Seems to be making good contact and cooling really good.

Perhaps your mobo came w/ a better socket attachment?

Maybe I will have to take a better look at mine. I dont think it is like that, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the heads up though. Im sure it will be useful to alot of people out there considering the Volcano 7 plus for thier P4 478.
