Up in Canada somewhere.
My trusty old 17" CRT is really starting to die on me, and I'm thinking of getting a new monitor at long last.

I was thinking of gettting a refurbed LG Flatron 915FT+, but with advances in LCD techology, I'm actually thinking of switching over. For a casual gamer with a lot of desk space, should I get the LG or an LCD?

I'm on a budget of roughly 320~ dollars CDN, and this province also has a 15 dollar recycling fee so in reality I can only spend about 285 dollars on a monitor.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Out of curiosity, does the quality of the cable leading from the monitor to the computer have any possibility of creating a moire effect on the monitor? I ask this because I'm not too sure as to whether or not to get a svga cable with a ferrite core or not.

I have never been one to invest in cable exotica. The cable I use is a female to female vga cable that came with the monitor. I assume it's just a standard cable at those prices.
