Been thinking about getting the Turbo-Cool 475 for awhile now but the noise rating of the fan scares me. It's rated at 44db@44CFM  . If I swap the fan with say a fan that's rated ~30cfm @ < 30db will the psu overheat?

30CFM is a little weak, I swapped mine with a 36CFM 30dBa sunon sleeve fan, works great.

So I guess a Panaflo L1A would be out of the question :). Right now I'm using a Enermax 361FMA with the fans turned all the way down and it seems alright even though it feels like there's no airflow going through the psu.

I guess I can live with 30db's since my HD's probably make that much noise anyways :).

get the vantec stealth, cheaper and the railings are just as stable. seriously.

or get the PCPC Silencer

The Silencer specs are slightly different from those of the HP series though... and it's not very clear in what ways they have cut corners for silence. I think it's not just the fan.
